Case History: Dr. Sujana, a 44-year-old gynecologist and a mother of two, was 87 kg with a BMI of 38.6 kg/m2. The plan provided around 1400 kcal of whole foods with a balanced macronutrient ratio (49% carbs, 18% protein, 33% fat), emphasizing low glycaemic index foods like ragi, millets, brown rice, and shvasa green rotis to maintain stable blood sugar levels. Clean proteins such as lean meats, egg whites, tofu, and curd were included in every meal to support metabolism and muscle health, while a variety of locally available seasonal vegetables offered fiber and detox support. Healthy fats like ghee and peanut oil were used in moderation to aid hormonal balance without overburdening the liver. Low-glycemic fruits were preferred to help prevent blood sugar spikes, reduce insulin resistance, and minimize liver stress—all of which are crucial for managing prediabetes, fatty liver, and weight loss .
To make the plan sustainable, we helped her with easy to use kitchen gadgets, simple recipes, strategies to meal prep the previous evening for the next day so that her overall time in the kitchen would not exceed 45 minutes in any given day. For busy work weeks, some meal components like protein and vegetables soups were prepped in advance, ensuring she could follow it even during her busiest workdays. Dr. Sujana also has a fairly busy social life and some days of travel of every month. We supported with giving guidelines and helping her make reasonably conscious food choices that allowed her to enjoy her pleasure foods. As she is a busy professional, we asked her to incorporate just 45 minutes of physical activity for about 4 to 5 days a week along with lifestyle movements of 10000 steps every day.  This holistic, practical, and personalized approach empowered her to lose 9 kg in just over two months, while feeling more energetic and in control of her health.
